Philip Ramirez Head Coach

What’s going on Barracudas!! I am Coach Philip Ramirez, and I’m thrilled to return for my 16th summer as a Head Coach and Certified Referee in NWAL. I grew up in Houston and swam competitively for 6 years which led me to becoming a Search and Rescue Swimmer and Trainer for the U.S. Navy. I served aboard the USS Halyburton FFG-40. My coaching philosophy focuses on building confidence, building strength for the water, mastering technical stroke mechanics, and fostering a fun, team-first environment. When I’m not coaching, I lead a sign company in business development and as the Production Manager for the factory. In my off time, I enjoy paintball and travel with my team, COBRA Paintball, to events all over the country. I was named Commander of the Year in 2023-2024 by Major League Paintball. These specialized skills help me bring high energy, attention to detail, and structure to our practices. My goal this season is to teach swimmers of all ages proper technique, while ensuring they stay active and confident in the water. I can’t wait to see our swimmers achieve their personal bests and make lasting memories this summer! Let’s build champions!

Angie Espinoza Assistant Coach

Hi! I’m Angie, a 20 year old college student and former Barracuda swimmer. I’ve been on the team since I was 7, so it feels really full circle to be back! I’m studying to become a teacher because I have a passion with working with kids. Outside of the pool, I play guitar for my church’s worship team and run my own photography business that I founded when I was 15! I’m super excited to meet everyone and to having a season full of growth, fun, and memories!
